UTStarcom’s RollingStream® IPTV system enables service providers to deliver traditional television programming along with advanced features and content over both existing and new broadband infrastructure, thus resulting in new applications, increased revenue and profitability, improved customer satisfaction and increased customer retention for service providers. The RollingStream system delivers broadcast quality entertainment and on demand services using the existing or new xDSL & FTTx network infrastructure.

To provide optimal content streaming from the network to the subscriber, the RollingStream solution supports a dual type hierarchical distributed architecture in which the content streaming servers are classified by their physical network location and their subscriber coverage. The dual hierarchical architecture enables service providers to dynamically distribute video contents according to pre-defined distribution policies based on attributes such as content classification, subscriber viewing demand, and bandwidth availability.

With a distributed architecture and a cluster-based server design, the RollingStream system supports more than 20,000 subscribers and delivers 100,000+ hours of media content per hardware cabinet.
