Operations Support System (OSS)

The UTStarcom mSwitch® Operation Support System (OSS) enables smooth business operations for UTStarcom’s NGN and other deployments. Based on UTStarcom’s commercially proven mSwitch NGN solution, the mSwitch OSS provides carrier-grade availability and scalability. The mSwitch OSS delivers an integrated set of functions covering all aspects of the network’s operations. A comprehensive turnkey system, the mSwitch OSS also supports open interfaces for integration with third-party billing and provisioning.

The UTStarcom NGN OSS products are designed to enable service providers to experience simplicity in the most intuitive form. Many of these OSS tools have web-based user interfaces that can simplify network operations and help easily maintain business operation support functions.

Technical

• The UTStarcom m-Business Operation Support System (mBOSS) is a suite of system management tools that can provide service providers a full range of capabilities on multi-technology networks. These tools can provide the service management and data provisioning functions required for multiple types of networks, including NGN, Broadband, IPTV, Wireless and converged voice, data and video networks.

The inherent advantage to the mBoss suite of products is that they can be used across multiple UTStarcom product lines and provide an integrated back end system.

• The UTStarcom Subscriber Location Register Server (SLR) is the central data processing unit of the mSwitch NGN platform. The subscriber location register (SLR) application provides both data processing and protocol conversion functions of the mSwitch network. This software application has been designed using a software architecture that focuses on real time responsiveness, scalability and high availability.
