UTStarcom’s Optical solutions provide scalable, cost-effective transport elements based upon SDH/SONET. These solutions constitute the NetRing® family of products.

These solutions support transmission speeds ranging from 155 Mb/s to 10 GB/s and enable multi-speed integrated transport for TDM, 10/100/1000M Ethernet and ATM services. The integration of applications including Generic Framing Procedure (GFP), Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS), layer 2 Ethernet switching and Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) technologies, greatly improve the efficiency and capacity of data transport. In addition, the product platform supports various complex network topologies and includes a sophisticated multi-service management system.

UTStarcom’s NetRing Optical product family is available in a comprehensive portfolio enabling it to serve in a wide variety of applications and deployment scenarios. The NetRing Optical product family includes both Optical Transport (MSTP) and Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) products.
