Optical Transport (MSTP)
In recent years, while TDM voice traffic has been flat, data traffic has grown exponentially. Growth in IP-based traffic has placed a tremendous load on networks and service providers are seeking solutions to streamline and optimize network traffic. Service providers are looking for new “transport” solutions that will enable them to deliver efficient, cost-effective service.
UTStarcom’s NetRing® product family includes two primary product lines that support data transport. These include:
- NetRing 600/1000/2500/10000 platforms, which focus on SDH-based MSTP service
- NetRing 715 platform, which functions primarily as a “pure” data transport product
NetRing 600/1000/2500/10000 platform series is a multi-service optical transport system designed to simplify service provider networks, dramatically reducing both operational and capital expenditures.
The system enables the delivery of SDH services and advanced data services – including ATM, FE and GE – rapidly, efficiently and cost-effectively. The highly integrated NetRing platform unifies the functions of a next-generation SDH Add-drop Multiplexer (ADM), Digital Cross-connect System (DCS), ATM/Ethernet aggregation switch and integrated Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) in a single carrier-class shelf
