NetRing® 2500 Platform

The NetRing® 2500 Platform family incorporates an innovative MESH-Bus and distributed cross-connect architecture to enable on-demand deployment of cross-connect capacity at a truly compelling price/performance ratio. The NetRing 2500 Platform family offers a small footprint, low power consumption and industry-leading service access capabilities. It can be widely deployed across various layers of the MAN. The NetRing 2500 Platform family enables seamless migration from 155M to 622M to 2.5G, to better accommodate the increased demand for bandwidth driven by online data service developments.

NetRing 2500 Platform supports continuous and virtual concatenation at VC-12/4/3 in SDH and VT1.5/STS-1/STS-3 in SONET. It also supports Generic Framing Procedure (GFP), Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS), and has built-in Ethernet service functions. GFP protocol is used to map FE/GE services into NxVC-12/4/3 or NxVT1.5/STS- 3/STS-4 for transmission. In addition, the platform supports Layer 2 switching and flow control. NetRing 2500 Platform also supports ATM service, providing STM-1/STS-1 and Inverse Multiplexing for ATM (IMA) interfaces
