SDH Based Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP)

UTStarcom's NetRing^® multi-service transport product family utilizes SDH/SONET as the underlying technology to provide reliable and cost effective mechanisms to address backhaul and aggregation layer requirements for service providers.

The field-proven MSTP product family includes multiple products capable of handling bandwidths up to 40Gbps. These platforms enable service providers to provide a variety of services including PDG, SDH, ATM, Ethernet (FE/GE) rapidly and efficiently. These, highly integrated, platforms can function as a next-generation add-drop multiplexer (ADM), Digital Cross-Connect (DXC) as well as ATM/Ethernet aggregation device.

MSTP product family supports advanced IP/data transport mechanisms viz. Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme (LCAS), Generic Framing Procedure (GFP), Virtual Concatenation (VCAT) and Resilient Transport Ring (RPR). These products support a full suite of protection schemes to provide high reliability, sub-50ms protection switching capability to ensure continuity for mission-critical applications.
