In recent years, the telecommunications industry has been transitioning from legacy circuit and TDM-based networks to Broadband and IP-based next-generation networks. UTStarcom’s Broadband solutions offer converged access solution, via the MSAN approach, with an integrated TDM migration, POTS termination, DSL, Media Gateway and GEPON access on the same platform. The UTStarcom solution may substantially reduce operators’ capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX).
As service providers’ business models have evolved, UTStarcom’s iAN8K Multimedia Network Edge product family has enabled them to deliver new applications and services to help meet business and financial goals. UTStarcom's iAN8K product family is a carrier class integrated access, multimedia network edge solution to provide premium broadband services in addition to a rich array of legacy narrowband applications. The iAN8K product family is available in multiple form factors, enabling it to serve in a wide variety of applications and deployment scenarios.

Coupled with the DSL platform, the GEPON solutions from UTStarcom provide an optimal solution for fiber to the premise or home or curb. UTStarcom’s GEPON product line provides a high-speed alternative to copper wire access at the network edge and direct to the subscriber. GEPON solutions combine the simplicity of Ethernet service provisioning with the high durability of passive components, making them extremely cost-effective.

UTStarcom’s Broadband portfolio features the NetRing® optical solution, including a comprehensive suite of SDH/SONET transport products which enable multi-speed integrated transport for TDM, 10/100/1000M Ethernet and ATM services.
