GEPON Solution

UTStarcom’s GEPON solution delivers high-speed voice, data and video services to residential and business subscribers. The platform, comprised of Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and Optical Network Unit (ONU), represents a high-speed FTTx solution and an alternative or adjunct to xDSL access. FTTx, or GEPON in particular, supports multiple applications and services including VoIP, enterprise focused services, “Triple Play” services and RF Overlay, among others.

Triple Play Services

Used in conjunction with UTStarcom’s end-to-end network and CPE, the BBS 4000 enables the provision of enhanced voice, high-speed data and video and interactive applications. The iAN8K MSAN also paves the way for a broad complement of future value added services such as video phone, video conferencing, electronic commerce over TV (t-commerce), video mail, personalized content programs and more. By combining the iAN8K MSAN with UTStarcom’s RollingStream™ platform, service providers may also offer subscribers Time-shift TV, network-based Personalized Video Recording (nPVR) and Video On Demand (VOD) services.

Delivering IPTV, VOD, VoIP and high speed Internet over IP requires an access platform capable of supporting all services over copper or fiber that include a full range of IP-based Quality of Service (QoS) features on an individual basis as well as across the network. Enabling “Triple Play” services are initiated at the access layer of the network.

UTStarcom BBS 4000 and BBS 1000+ can simultaneously deliver IPTV, VoIP, POTS and high speed Internet over copper. BBS 4000 and 1000+ have integrated IGMP proxy, bridging or routing, DHCP server/relay, and IP QoS to support bundled video, data and voice triple play.

Enterprise Services

For large enterprise networks, UTStarcom’s iAN8K B1000 platform serves as a high performance, cost-effective Transparent LAN Service (TLS), providing a simple way to connect satellite facilities using the existing copper line. When compared to the leased line or dialup solution, this approach is more economical and provides higher bandwidth.

VoIP Services

The iFXS from the iAN8K B1000 is a VoIP module including VoIP signaling & media processing, FXS ports andFE interfaces. The iFXS module has one fast Ethernet interface to backplane as uplink and connects to the IP network via an IP Concentration module.
