CDMA/GSM
“Delivering the benefits of an All-IP wireless network”
The UTStarcom MovingMedia® 2000 product line provides CDMA and GSM operators with end-to-end IP-based infrastructure and solutions enabling voice and data services to end-users. Based on 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards specifications, UTStarcom's MovingMedia 2000 portfolio is an ideal solution for both incumbent and green-field operators in the GSM and CDMA markets.
The MovingMedia® 2000 portable system provides a cost-effective end-to-end wireless network solution. It is ideal for disaster recovery as well as military/government operations that require stand-alone networks with full RF power and simple installation. The system can be customized for specific applications using standard 19” rack mountable equipment modules. In the portable deployment scenario, a complete network including Base Station System, Base Station Controller, Mobile Switching Center, Packet Data Server Node and Home Agent occupy as little as 8U of rack space making it ideal for remote and distributed deployments.

In the CDMA (3GPP2) deployments, UTStarcom's MovingMedia® 2000 portfolio offers coverage in 450Mhz, 800MHz and 1900MHz frequencies and provides connectivity for CDMA, CDMA2000 1X and EV-DO networks. UTStarcom’s unique differentiator is its ability to provide CDMA operators with a transition path to an All-IP network. Using an All-IP network and distributed softswitch architecture provided by UTStarcom, operators may enjoy significant backhaul cost savings and the ability to offer new value-add services not enabled by TDM-based networks.
The All-IP CDMA and GSM network and the distributed softswitch architecture of the MovingMedia 2000 solution enables a host of value-add applications that offer the service provider further service differentiation. These include:
Rural Coverage
Pico Cell Coverage
Rapid Response System
More details on each of these applications are available. In each of the applications, the operator or enterprise deploying UTStarcom’s MovingMedia 2000 solution may benefit from a significantly reduced operating expense, in some cases in excess of 80% per year, and a time-to-market advantage from a service provisioning perspective. In a Rapid Response System deployment, the time-to-market advantage is a potential life saving step and not just a revenue generator or competitive advantage.
