UTStarcom’s RollingStream® end-to-end IPTV solution is designed for telecom operators, broadband service providers and cable and satellite operators to deliver “Triple Play” broadcast quality TV and on-demand entertainment services over IP networks. From its inception, the RollingStream solution was designed with the scalability, reliability and bandwidth efficiency required to enable operators to offer new services and applications over their existing and new broadband networks.

In addition to delivering live broadcast TV, the RollingStream solution provides its subscribers with a virtual VCR control to pause, start, stop, rewind and fast forward live TV programs. Users also have the flexibility to watch any previously broadcast programs without pre-recording.

UTStarcom’s RollingStream solution ensures a common platform for delivering enhanced voice, high speed data and interactive video to users while enabling a common call control and back-end system including billing and authentication. The operator realizes lower investment and expense while delivering an enhanced user experience.

In contrast to traditional Pay-Per-View (PPV) services in which programs are broadcast according to a pre-set schedule, UTStarcom’s RollingStream solution delivers true VOD to subscribers by allowing them to watch any pre-loaded program at any time from anywhere. Operators deliver thousands of hours of VOD content to their users using RollingStream IPTV.

Adding a digital video camera to the Media Console, the RollingStream solution transforms the home or office into a personal broadcasting center with video phone and video conferencing capabilities. Enhanced user connectivity and interaction translates into a new revenue stream for the operator.

The RollingStream IPTV solution provides an optimal solution for Internet gaming and various other forms of personalized, interactive services.
