PHS Radio Access
UTStarcom’s Personal Access System (PAS™) and IP-based Personal Access System (iPAS) systems use the same Radio Frequency (RF) Access, also known as Radio Access, elements. Cell Stations (CS)s and Cell Station Controller (CSC)s are the elements used to provide service via the Personal Handyphone System (PHS) industry standard common air interface.
UTStarcom's PHS Cell Stations (CS)s offer highly reliable and ubiquitous wireless coverage. The air interface of the CS complies with the Research and Development Center for Radio Systems Standard 28 (RCR STD 28) PHS standard, supporting Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) with Time Division Duplex (TDD) transmission mode.
The UTStarcom Cell Station Controller (CSC) is a key component of both the UTStarcom PAS and iPAS networks. The CSC provides control functions to manage the CS in the network and provides a concentration point for many CSs in a given area.
Network Elements
The PAS and iPAS Radio Access network includes the following network elements:
500mW AACS-S7 Cell Station
500mW CS-M7 Cell Station
500mW CACS-S7 Cell Station
10mW Pico Cell Station
