500mW CACS-S7 Cell Station
UTStarcom’s Personal Access System (PAS™) and IP-based Personal Access System (iPAS) systems use the same Radio Frequency (RF) Access, known as Radio Access, elements. Cell Stations (CS)s and Cell Station Controller (CSC)s are used to provide service via the Personal Handyphone System (PHS) industry standard common air interface.
The Compact Array Cell Station (CACS-S7) is a 1 Control Channel, 7 Traffic Channel (1C7T) Cell Station for outdoor applications. The Cell Station uses the same Smart Antenna technology as the Adaptive Array to enhance its receive sensitivity while it transmits using Omni directional antennas. As a result, the Compact Array is approximately half the size of the Adaptive Array and needs only 4 antennas instead of 8 for the Adaptive Array or the CS-M7.
Technical
The Compact Array may be installed in groups of 2 to provide 15 traffic channels sharing a single control channel. The CACS-S7 transmits an average power of 500mW with the ability to reduce power output via software control. The AACS-S7 operates on 85 to 286 VAC and supports PHS channels in the 1880 to 1920 MHz range and is Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorized.
